About

Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and keep himself unspotted from the world. James 1:27

My name is Tatiana.
I am nineteen years young and have been abundantly blessed by my Savior's love. I have a precious family and three boxes of dishes for my future home sitting at the foot of my bed. My burning desire is to be more like Christ in all I do. Welcome to my project.
There is a little black dress hanging in my closet and a small orphanage tucked away in Jinja, Uganda. The children there have my heart. I love them.

I am setting out on an adventure that will go something like this:
January 1st, 2013 I will slip on a little black dress that I will be wearing the entire year for the love of thirteen orphans in Uganda.
For twelve months I will raise awareness and identify with the children around the world that only have one outfit. Through sponsors and donations I want to raise $10,000 for Redeemer House Orphanage before the year is up. I am asking for your help and support in coming together and giving to these orphans. The money you contribute to this project helps Redeemer House cover the expenses of each child's needs-- food, housing, education, and personal needs of the orphanage. Please join me in praying, donating, following this blog, and loving on these children. No matter how big or small your contribution is, it will always be appreciated.

"There are several kinds of love. One is a selfish, mean, grasping, egotistical thing which uses love for self-importance. This is the ugly and crippling kind. The other is an outpouring of everything good in you—of kindness and consideration and respect—not only the social respect of manners but the greater respect which is recognition of another person as unique and valuable. The first kind can make you sick and small and weak but the second can release in you strength, and courage and goodness and even wisdom you didn’t know you had." -John Steinbeck

(I want you all to know I was originally inspired by two wonderful women, Elaini and Sheena who both did this project for children in India. I decided to follow in their footsteps and make an impact on children that are very near and dear to my own heart. After all, they say not to let a good idea go to waste.)

If you would like to sponsor the "LBDproject" in any way, please e-mail me at lbdforuganda@gmail.com
If you would like to donate clothing/and or accessories to my year long journey, also contact me by e-mail.
I am more than willing to meet and talk about this project with you. Please don't hesitate to contact me, I would love to get connected with you, your church/and or other organizations.
